I’m Settling With Debian KDE
My dad bought this new 4WD, its was kool to drive in and all that… BUT it was all GNOME. It did not really look good. Averagely I was hitting like 3 phone calls in a week about the Car and its GNOME look. Guys! I think the world loves KDE. When I converted his GNOME to KDE now I hit like 25 call a week just to talk about his new KDE look. Funny enough, even when i change the GNOME themes they did still looked old to the observers…. (what am I saying?……. Great!)
I was very happy when i got this laptop from a friend. the running OS was Citizens Rage Against Phones. Well it had some kool music on the other partition so i did enjoy some music.
Well I wantend to show off my new used laptop. I couldnt have taken it out on the OS so I decided to FOSS it. Well this time i wanted to go deb and have a taste of apt-get so I left rpm. which to use!! hmmmmm! ok. UBUNTU. I was like -: what? not the old car again! am going KDE-UBUNTU. I had to decide whether I should Ubuntu and later install the KDE-desktop or just KDE-UBUNTU straight, time was running out.
I got the KUBUNTU EDGY running, mounted the other partition and got the sounds. I did not have any problem with my sound card, it was playing koooool. My audio cds and VCDs were working kool.
Time to show off colour and beauty. Took my laptop to a nearby Video rental shop and displayed my boy on the table. It was all kool. eehh! Yao waww! this is nice. Now it was like some show room, i was bragging with the kool features and beauty. Then the challenge came …..the mp3s……. WHAT!! my boy wont play the mp3.
The MP3s I could not play a single mp3 file on KUBUNTU. gradually my show room was becoming empt. So much for show off.
The Internet Cafe I got my audience back when i got hocked to the internet in the same room, did a few googling apt-get ing and BOOM! I was back in the show.
Amarok saved the day, with all the wiki, the internet, the radio, the lables, the pix WHAT!!!!… All I was hearing was charley, how do i get one?
FREE VLC PLAYER with Deb all i did was to add the repository and apt-get the software.
It was like a mini SFD. ohhhh! that week my hits went 32 .
I have come to love KDE:
What i did not tell them:I tried to wine some applications, some worked some did not. some of the games did not work. Now am trying to get hitman 2 runing on my Kubuntu, hope it works.
Well if any of you reading knows any way to get hitman linux, let me know. thank.
